I can’t wait for sliced and salted homegrown tomatoes.
I just baked my first loaf of bread!
A friend of mine was telling me about the book Artisan Bread in Five Minutes a Day there’s a stupid long waiting list for it at the library so I looked, and of course, there’s a website. I sort of followed this recipe, until I discovered it was for pizza crust and from there on I improvised.
Only 4 Ingredients and it makes enough goop for four loaves!
3 cups of lukewarm water
1 1/2 tablespoons of yeast
1 1/2 tablespoons of kosher salt
6 1/2 cups of all-purpose white flour.
Mix everything but the flour together first. Then add the flour. Stir it up til it’s just mixed and then let it sit out covered (but not airtight) for 2-5 hours. Then pop it in the fridge overnight or for 3 hours. Wake it up in the morning let it sit out for a while, at least a half hour. Mine came out as just a blob, so I ignored it for awhile, then popped it in a baking tin and stuck it in the oven. 450 degrees and 40 minutes later, a loaf of bread that quite edible, especially with butter.
